A GLOBAL EDUCATION. A WELCOMING COMMUNITY.
STEAMBRIDGE International School welcomes families from different countries and educational backgrounds to explore a Cambridge learning journey enriched through purposeful STEAM education.
SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES JOINING FROM ABROAD.
Moving between countries or education systems can raise important questions about school placement, previous academic records, documentation and the application process.
Our Admissions Team works with international families to understand each student’s educational background and guide parents through the information required for admission consideration.
A COMMUNITY THAT WELCOMES EVERY LEARNER
WHO CAN APPLY?
International applicant circumstances differ, so each application is reviewed individually using the information and documentation available.
FAMILIES RELOCATING TO BANGLADESH
Families moving to Bangladesh can begin the admissions process before or during their relocation.
STUDENTS FROM INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS
Previous international curriculum experience and academic records can be reviewed during placement.
FOREIGN NATIONAL & EXPAT FAMILIES
International families may apply subject to relevant documentation, review and available places.
PREPARE THE RIGHT INFORMATION.
Depending on the applicant’s circumstances, international families may be asked to provide some or all of the following information.
Passport details, nationality, issue date and expiry information where applicable.
Supporting identity documentation for the student.
Recent reports, transcripts or other academic documentation, where available.
Transfer Certificate or equivalent documentation where applicable.
Passport, identification or guardian documentation may be required.
Relevant vaccination, immunization, allergy and health information.
CLEAR RECORDS. SMOOTHER REVIEW.
The application form may request passport, nationality and identity information for students and relevant parent or guardian details.
HELPING US UNDERSTAND THE LEARNER’S JOURNEY.
Students joining from another country or education system may have followed a different curriculum, academic calendar or year-level structure.
Previous school information, academic reports and transcripts help the Admissions Team understand the learner’s academic pathway and consider appropriate placement.
Where additional information is needed, the School may contact the family before a final placement decision is made.
WHEN A GUARDIAN IS INVOLVED.
Where a student is residing with or represented by a legal guardian, the School may require supporting information to establish the relationship and maintain reliable communication and safeguarding records.
GUARDIAN DETAILS
Name, relationship, address and contact information.
IDENTIFICATION
Relevant identity or supporting documentation may be requested.
EMERGENCY CONTACT
Reliable emergency contacts help support student safeguarding and wellbeing.
AUTHORISED ESCORT
Relevant information may be recorded for authorised pick-up and drop-off arrangements.
FIVE CLEAR STEPS.
The exact process may vary by applicant, but international families can generally expect the following journey.
ENQUIRE
Share your child’s current location, school background and intended year of entry.
APPLY
Submit the admission application and available supporting information.
DOCUMENT REVIEW
The Admissions Team reviews academic, identity and supporting documentation.
ASSESSMENT
An assessment, interview or student interaction may be requested where applicable.
DECISION
Families receive guidance regarding placement, enrolment and next steps.
THE RIGHT STARTING POINT.
Because international applicants may come from different curriculum systems, the School may need additional information before confirming placement.
School history helps establish the learner’s academic pathway.
Available reports support the School’s understanding of prior learning.
Placement considers the learner’s broader academic and developmental profile.
Additional interaction may be requested before final admission or placement.
REQUIREMENTS MAY DIFFER BY APPLICANT.
International applicant documentation and admissions requirements may vary according to nationality, previous schooling, guardianship arrangements and the learner’s circumstances.
Submission of an application does not guarantee admission. Admission remains subject to review, appropriate documentation, any required assessment, availability of places and relevant School policies.
HAVE A QUESTION BEFORE APPLYING?
Tell our Admissions Team a little about your child, current country and intended year of entry. We can then guide you towards the appropriate next step.
